Our Favorite Wine Bars in Denver
As a whole, Bistro LeRoux offers one of the best happy hours in Denver. This upscale Pan-European eatery is undeniably chic, and its kitchen matches the stellar ambiance.
Enjoy its Monday all-day happy hour, along with discounts from 4 – 5 pm Tuesday through Friday and 3 – 5 pm on weekends. The $30 “board and bottle” special is one of the best buys, as is the $30 “oysters and bubbles” pairing.
But LeRoux’s happy hour small plates might have you ordering even more. Choose from steamed mussels, Wagyu steak tartare, Spanish-style meatballs, and other tasty plates.
For years, we’ve been continually impressed by LeRoux. So much so, that we partnered with the restaurant — it’s now a stop on our highly-rated Denver Wine Walk tour! Sip wine and dine on its signature French onion soup by booking this experience, which includes visits to two other Denver wine bars.
Sienna Wine Bar & Small Plates
Nestled in the Congress Park neighborhood, Sienna Wine Bar is popular among local wine drinkers. Enjoy a great selection of reds, whites, and sparkling wines in a charming European-style atmosphere.
Sienna Wine Bar features a generous happy hour menu, available from 3 – 6 pm daily and all hours on Sunday. During these times, glasses of wine are as affordable as $7 per, and organic small plates like white bean dip and bruschetta are discounted as well.
Want to extend the ambiance into the evening? If you’re looking for a more substantial meal after happy hour, head to Fruition, a nearby mainstay and one of Denver’s most romantic restaurants.
Barcelona Wine Bar
Located in the RiNo Arts District, Barcelona Wine Bar draws a lively crowd come happy hour. This wine bar in Denver offers specials from 4 – 6 pm Monday through Wednesday, as well as 2 – 5 pm on Thursday and Friday.
When visiting, take advantage of its greatest happy hour discount: 50% off all bottles of sparkling wine! Have some in your party that aren’t as enthusiastic about wine? $7 martinis, 7 oz. cans of craft beer for under $4, and elevated appetizers are sure to keep them happy.
This recently-opened eatery is set within a trendy, open space. The bar is featured at the center of the restaurant, but you might want to snag a table. Its tasty Spanish tapas menu makes Barcelona Wine Bar one of the best restaurants in Denver!
There are so many delicious things to try in Denver’s Union Station, including an array of items at Sunday Vinyl. Hands down, this spot is one of the best wine bars in Denver. It also happens to be one of the incredible stops on our Denver Wine Walk tour!
When it comes to happy hour, Sunday Vinyl doesn’t hold back. Specials are available Monday through Saturday from 4:30 – 6 pm, plus Sunday from 2 – 6 pm.
Happy hour wine glasses rotate frequently and are curated by its expert bar team. Complete the experience with one of Sunday Vinyl’s small plates, including several signature options. For something unique, opt for the oysters with beet granita and horseradish mignonette. Though if you order a classic meat and cheese plate, you won’t be disappointed by the chef’s selections.
Whether you’re looking for brunch spots in Denver, the city’s best lunch restaurants, or happy hour deals, Postino is the place to be. At all hours of the day, both its Highlands and Broadway locations are bustling with cheery guests, most with wine glasses in hand.
Every day from open to 5 pm, Postino offers glasses of wine and pitchers of beer for $6 per. But you might want to plan a late-night visit on Monday or Tuesday. Early in the week, it also offers a $25 “board and bottle” special after 8 pm. This includes a bottle of wine and one of its iconic bruschetta boards, which comes with your choice of four delicious toppings.
Mark your calendars for Mollusk Mondays! Italian restaurant Angelo’s Taverna kicks off each week with all-day seafood specials. This includes $7 bowls of mussels and $17 clams and linguine, which comes with your choice of soup or salad.
But that’s not all — this eatery offers daily deals from 3 – 6 pm, as well as 9 pm – close for when you’re craving a late-night bite. All wines on tap are $2 off, while non-wine drinkers will appreciate $6 well drinks and a dollar off craft beer.
Be sure to come to Angelo’s Taverna hungry. Kitchen specials include $1 raw house oysters, $2.50 chargrilled oysters, $5 crab cake sliders, and Italian favorites like $6 toasted ravioli.
After a heavy meal, consider a walk around this charming neighborhood. Cheesman Park, home to the Denver Botanic Gardens, is just a mile away, and visiting is one of the best things to do in Denver.
Blanchard Family Wines
If looking for things to do around Coors Field, or the Ballpark neighborhood in general, head to the Dairy Block micro-district. It’s one of the coolest places to explore in downtown Denver, full of incredible eateries, shops, and places to stay.
One stand-out establishment in this area is Blanchard Family Wines. Sure, we might be a little biased given that it’s one of our Denver Wine Walk tour partners! But trust us, this winery in Denver is not one to miss.
The brothers who founded Blanchard are all about highlighting local artisans and ingredients. In fact, the majority of its wines are produced with Colorado-grown grapes. When visiting, select from a deep wine list including reds, whites, sparkling and sweet varieties, and more. If you find it difficult to choose, opt for a flight.
Or given Blanchard Family Wines’ generous happy hour, treat yourself with two or three full glasses — and maybe a bottle to go! On weekdays from 1 – 6 pm, wine glasses are $2 off and bottles are $10 off.
Vin Rouge Wine Bar & Tasting Room
If you’re looking to learn a thing or two about fine wines, check out Vin Rouge. Celebrated for its knowledgeable and friendly staff, this hidden gem is absolutely one of the best wine bars in Denver. And, of course, it offers an awesome happy hour.
All day Sunday, as well as Monday through Saturday from 4 – 6 pm, guests can enjoy $5 off glasses and 20% off bottles. Select from a global menu of whites, reds, and rosés, along with bubbly for a special occasion!
Vin Rouge also serves nibbles to complement your beverages. Charcuterie and accouterments are a popular choice, as are the local bonbons by Temper Chocolate. To savor cheese, chocolate, and wine all at once, order the “vin rouge riesling.” Made with milk chocolate and a wine-infused blue cheese ganache, this confection is absolutely unique.
The Truffle Table
Full of incredible eateries, it can be hard to choose where to dine in the Highlands neighborhood. But when it comes to Denver happy hours for wine drinkers, few can compete with The Truffle Table.
Wednesday through Friday from 2 – 6 pm, wines are $6 per glass and just $24 per bottle. Friends that don’t prefer wine can take advantage of $5 beers and $9 cocktails. Though, all will enjoy the shared plates here at The Truffle Table. Choose from a three-cheese happy hour board, marinated olives, stuffed peppers, and other tasty bites.
When you visit, grab a window seat or a spot at the bar. But come summer, there’s no better place to enjoy a glass than on its outdoor patio.
