Our hostess was wonderful! She knew so much about the food, city and history. We loved each spot and each dish was delicious and different which was cool. We met some great people and feel like we got to see more of the city than we would have on our own. It makes us want to do a food tour in every new city we visit.

After going on a trip to Denver and taking a Delicious Denver Food Tour in 2019, I knew I wanted to do it again when returning this year. I booked the tour that took us through the RiNo district, and our tour guide Austin Shrader was fantastic. He told us all about the art, introduced us to some delicious food, and even took us to some unexpected spots for additional treats (including coffee, popcorn, and ice cream!). In between tours, we talked about other things going on in Denver, and as he's worked in hospitality for a long time, he gave us some really helpful tips about Red Rocks (which my partner and I were attending a concert at the next night). If you're interested in something fun and delicious, I'd highly recommend using this company for a food tour. I've done two now and would definitely do another if I'm in Denver again.

Eva was amazing. We go on food tours on every vacation. I also own a catering company, and this one was above and beyond. Ava was fantastic with knowledge of food and history of the city. Her personality was what made it. I highly recommend this tour for anyone that is visiting. If you can do it on the very front end of your vacation that is the best because she also gives recommendations on restaurants featuring your favorite foods.

Michael was fantastic! He is so knowledgeable about the history of the area. He also gave us several recommendations for other places to eat and visit after the tour. We will definitely book one of the other tours the next time we visit.

Nate was our guide and we were very happy with every stop along with all the local recommendations he gave us for the rest of our trip. Really above and beyond hospitality. Cheers from Bandon!
How do I book a private tour?

The first step is contacting us to check availability for your group. You can use the form on our website or email nate@deliciousdenverfooodtours.com. Private tours require a deposit of $200 per tour time slot with the balance due seven days from your tour date.

What days and time are private tours offered?

Please note that we don’t run tours past early afternoon on Fridays and Saturdays, as those are prime dining hours for our partner restaurants. Outside of that window, we’ll work with you to find the perfect day and time to fit your group’s schedule.

How much do private tours cost?

Private tour pricing varies by experience and includes everything from generous food tastings to, in some cases, curated drink pairings. Prices start at $85 per guest for a food-only ticket on our Downtown Denver Food Tour and go up to $135 per guest for our Dinner Tasting Tour, which includes three alcoholic beverages.

Each private tour has a minimum group size requirement, and we’ll help you choose the best option based on your group’s size, interests, and schedule. All pricing is per guest and includes an experienced local guide as well as all food and drink tastings, taxes, fees and gratuities.

How many people are needed to schedule a private tour?

Each private tour has a minimum guest requirement, and the number varies depending on the tour. These minimums help ensure we can reserve space with our restaurant partners and provide a smooth, high-quality experience for your group.

You can find the most up-to-date minimums for each tour on our Private Tour Comparison page, or reach out to our team — we’re happy to confirm the details and help you choose the best option for your group size.

Can I book a private tour with fewer guests than the minimum?

For example, if the private tour minimum is 12 guests but you only have 10 people attending, you can reserve all 12 spots to make the tour private. Many small groups choose this option to enjoy a fully private experience with just their friends, family, or team.

What is the maximum group size for private tours?

Yes! You’re welcome to book a private tour with a smaller group as long as you’re willing to pay for the minimum number of guests required for that tour.

If you’re planning a big event, we’ll help you find the best route and format to keep things running smoothly while still feeling personal and engaging. Just reach out to our private tours team, and we’ll customize the experience for your group’s size and goals.

Why are private tour tickets more expensive than public tour tickets?

Private tour tickets are priced higher per guest than our public tour tickets because they include tour guide gratuities. It’s our way of making sure your guide is fully compensated for leading a private, personalized experience — so you don’t have to worry about tipping separately at the end of the tour.

Can I cancel or reschedule a private tour?

We run private tours seven days a week, with start times available from midday through dinner hours. Not all tour routes are available at every time, so the best way to compare your options is by visiting our Private Tour Comparison page for details.

Exceptions are made only for force majeure or extraordinary circumstances. For full details, please see our Private Tour Terms and Conditions. If you think your plans might change, we recommend reaching out as early as possible — our team is happy to help you find a new date that works.

Are gratuities included?

Yes. Our per-guest pricing already includes all fees, taxes, and gratuities — for both your guide and the service staff at each of our partner restaurants. In other words, everyone you interact with on the tour is already taken care of. No additional tipping is expected or needed — just relax, enjoy, and let us handle the details.

What if my guests are late or unable to attend at the last minute?

Unfortunately, we’re unable to reschedule or refund tours after the seven-day pre-tour deadline unless there’s a force majeure event. Guests who arrive late are welcome to join the group mid-tour, but the tour start time can’t be delayed. Because tastings are pre-ordered and coordinated with our restaurant partners, missed stops or dishes can’t be replaced or refunded. We recommend arriving a few minutes early to check in, relax, and ensure a smooth start for your group.

How much food is served on tours?

Each of our tours includes generous portions designed to make up a full and satisfying meal — not just samples.

  • Downtown Denver Food Tour and RiNo Arts District Food Tour: Five tastings over three hours, adding up to a hearty and satisfying lunch.

  • 16th Street Mall Food Tour: Four tastings over 2.5 hours — a lighter but still satisfying early lunch.

  • Denver Cocktails Tour: Four craft cocktails paired with small plates at two stops — a fun and flavorful evening experience.

  • Dinner Tasting Tour: Six tastings plus dessert and three paired drinks — a full, indulgent dinner that leaves everyone happily full.

  • Denver Food Hall Tour: Four tastings and dessert with two paired cocktails — a complete meal that captures Denver’s vibrant food hall scene.

Every tour is designed to balance portions, pacing, and variety so guests leave satisfied but not overstuffed.

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?

Yes! We’re happy to accommodate a wide range of dietary needs on any private tour. We can adjust for:

  • Vegetarian

  • Pescatarian

  • No beef

  • No pork

  • No poultry

  • No seafood

  • No nuts

  • Dairy-free

  • Gluten-free

  • Vegan

Guests who are gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, or have other restrictions requiring significant menu changes incur a $15 per guest surcharge, as these adjustments often require separate dishes in place of shared tastings.

We’ll always do our best to ensure every guest enjoys a full and delicious experience — just let us know your dietary needs when booking so we can plan accordingly with our restaurant partners.

Can you customize tastings and restaurants for our group?

We’re happy to adjust parts of our core tour experiences to fit your group’s needs, but we don’t create fully custom tours from scratch. Our routes, restaurants, and menus are built around trusted partnerships that allow us to deliver a smooth, high-quality experience every time.

That said, we can absolutely tweak the details — from timing and pacing to guide facilitation, add-ons, or emphasis (like more cocktails, dessert focus, or storytelling style). These flexible touches help us tailor the experience to your group while maintaining the consistency and excellence our partner restaurants help us achieve.

For this reason, we don’t incorporate non-partner restaurants or fully customizable menus, but we’ll work closely with you to make the tour feel unique, personal, and memorable for your team.

Are there drinks included on the tours?

It depends on the tour — some include drinks automatically, while others offer an optional upgrade.

  • Downtown Denver Food Tour and RiNo Arts District Food Tour: Alcohol isn’t included with the standard ticket, but you can add a drink package when booking to enjoy three carefully paired alcoholic beverages during your tour.

  • Denver Cocktails Tour: Includes four craft cocktails, with the option to book a mocktail ticket for non-drinkers.

  • Dinner Tasting Tour: Features three paired alcoholic beverages designed to complement each course.

  • Denver Food Hall Tour: Includes two paired cocktails with your tastings.

All guests wishing to drink must present a valid ID. Whether you choose cocktails, wine, or mocktails, each pairing is thoughtfully selected to enhance the food and the overall experience.

What kind of food is served on the tours?

Tastings vary depending on the tour, but every experience highlights locally owned, award-winning restaurants that showcase Denver’s diverse food scene. You’ll enjoy a mix of regional favorites, creative chef-driven dishes, and a few sweet surprises along the way.

To see exactly what’s included on each route, visit the individual tour pages — they’re updated regularly with the current tastings and partner restaurants for each experience.

How much history is included on a private tour?

As much as you want! Our guides follow a schedule but not a script — they’re there to shape the experience around your group’s interests.

If you’ve got history lovers or want to showcase Denver’s rich past to out-of-town guests, your guide can dive deeper into the city’s stories and landmarks. Prefer a lighter touch with more time for team bonding and conversation? We can do that too.

Before your tour, your guide will check in to learn your group’s preferences and make sure their hosting style hits the right note — whether that’s more storytelling, more social time, or a perfect mix of both.

Do you provide transportation from hotels or between stops on the tour?

We don’t currently offer transportation to, from, or during our tours. All of our routes are located in downtown Denver and are designed to be easy, walkable experiences — no tour requires more than one mile of total walking over two to three hours.

If your group is staying nearby, our guides are often available to escort you to or from your hotel (within one mile of the start location) for an additional $75 per leg. This can be a great option for out-of-town groups who want a seamless start or finish to their experience.

How much walking is there on the tours?

All of our tours are designed to be easy and enjoyable, with less than one mile of total walking spread out over two to three hours. The pace is relaxed, and there are plenty of opportunities to sit, eat, and enjoy the surroundings at each stop.

Each tour’s exact distance is listed on its individual tour page, so you can see what to expect before booking. Comfortable shoes are all you need — the focus is on food, fun, and Denver’s atmosphere, not endurance.

Do you run any tours outside of Downtown Denver?

At this time, all of our tours take place in downtown Denver and the nearby RiNo Arts District. These areas offer the best mix of walkability, local flavor, and storytelling — perfect for exploring the city’s top restaurants and landmarks on foot.

We don’t currently operate tours outside of these neighborhoods, but we’re always exploring new opportunities as Denver’s food scene continues to grow.

Where do the tours meet?

Each tour begins at a different starting location, but all are centrally located in downtown Denver, within easy walking distance of Union Station. You can find the exact meeting spot on your specific tour page.

All tours have a designated meeting point except for the Dinner Tasting Tour, which may start at different partner restaurants depending on the route.

Your group’s organizer will receive detailed meeting instructions and map links in advance, and your guide will text the organizer upon arrival to confirm they’re on site and ready to welcome your group.

How do you handle weather conditions like rain, snow, or heat during tours?

All of our tastings are seated indoors, so tours run year-round — rain, snow, or shine! We just recommend dressing appropriately for the short walks between stops. You can find the exact walking distances for each tour on its specific tour page.

In the rare case of extreme weather (like hail or a major snowstorm), we may cancel the tour for safety reasons and offer you the option to move to another day or receive a full refund. In six years of operation, we’ve had to make that call fewer than five times — Denver’s weather is usually on our side.

What should we wear on our tour?

We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes and dressing for the weather, as tours run rain, snow, or shine. Check the forecast before your tour and bring whatever will keep you comfortable—a coat or umbrella in cooler months, or sunscreen and sunglasses on sunny Denver days. The walks between stops are short, but a little preparation helps you enjoy every bite and story along the way.
