The 16th Street Mall has served as Denver’s main commercial artery since the 1850s. Originally home to hotels, banks, and businesses that fueled the city’s growth, this historic thoroughfare has transformed over time from a hub of mining-era commerce to a modern, pedestrian-friendly destination filled with shopping, art, and dining. Today, after a major multi-million dollar renovation, the 16th Street Mall continues to reflect Denver’s shift from industrial roots to a lifestyle-driven, food-focused city.
Just around the corner, Larimer Square offers a glimpse into Denver’s earliest days. As the city’s oldest block, it pairs historic charm with some of the best restaurants in downtown Denver.

The tour meets inside Lazo Empanadas – 16th St. Mall Location: 303 16th St Mall Lazo Empanadas has other locations, so please be sure you navigate to their 16th St. Mall location.
Guides will be inside the restaurant wearing orange “Delicious Denver Food Tours” buttons.
There are a number of paid parking lots near the meeting point for this tour.
All of our tours are walking food/drink tours. Guests meet at the departure point and walk between stops.
This tour includes four tastings at award-winning, locally-owned restaurants. We find that this makes up a light lunch for most guests.
The tour ends with at DragonFly Noodle – 1350 16th St Mall This is a 15-minute walk from the starting point.
You’ll walk through and learn about the 16th St. Mall and Larimer Square on this tour.
The 16th St. Mall Food Tour covers just under 1 mile of light and leisurely walking, broken up over the 2.5 hours. All tastings are seated indoors.
